About Us

Channel NSW is an initiative of the New South Wales Government in partnership with over twenty New South Wales Government agencies including the Roads and Traffic Authority, NSW Department of Education and Training, NSW Health, Tourism NSW and Sydney Water.

The service is part of a three-year datacasting pilot in the Sydney metropolitan area in collaboration with our transmission partners Broadcast Australia. The pilot involves the free-to-air broadcast of a sample of NSW Government online and video materials on a dedicated NSW Government Information Channel. Anyone in Sydney can receive the service with a digital television (DTV) set-top box.

It is also possible to access this same content using a computer equipped with a Digital TV tuner.
