Getting married
Before getting married you are required to give a marriage celebrant at least one month and one day's notice of an intended date of marriage and complete a Notice of Intended Marriage.
What happens when a defacto relationship breaks down
The new laws enable de facto couples to access, as married couples can, the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Magistrates Court (the Family Law Courts) for property and spousal maintenance matters.

A national telephone service established to assist families affected by relationship or separation issues.

This service provides telephone counselling and Coming Out groups for the GLBT community.

Domestic and family violence takes many forms. It involves violent, abusive or intimidating behaviour carried out by a partner, carer or family member to control, dominate, humiliate or instil fear.
