Project overview
Mahogany Ave, Macquarie Park NSW 2113
What’s happening
We are redeveloping the Ivanhoe Estate into a vibrant new mixed community called Midtown Macquarie Park. This new community will have around 3,300 new homes made up of:
- 954 social housing units
- 130 affordable rental units
- more than 2,000 privately owned units.
The design features:
- 2.8 ha of open space, including new parks, a skate park and playground
- a new ‘vertical’ school
- 2 x 75-place childcare centres
- a town plaza, new shops, cafes and restaurants
- a new road connecting Herring Road with Lyonpark Road. This will include a new bridge over Shrimptons Creek.
Who is involved
We are partnering with the Aspire consortium for the project. This consortium includes both Frasers Property Australia and Mission Australia Housing.
Supporting tenants
Mission Australia is helping social housing tenants connect with:
- education
- training
- employment opportunities in the area.
It is also helping them transition to housing independence.
Previous tenants of Ivanhoe Estate
Previous tenants have the right to return to the new units if a suitable property is available.
