Congratulations to the Sydney Kings!

To celebrate the 2022 NBL Grand Final victory of the Sydney Kings, a celebration event will be held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt at The Rocks on Saturday 14 May, hosted by the NSW Premier, the Honourable Dominic Perrottet MP.

The event will give Sydneysiders a chance to turn up and congratulate the Sydney Kings, which sealed a history-making season this week by winning the club’s fourth ever NBL Championship, as well as giving the Sydney Kings a chance to thank fans for their support throughout the 2022 Series.

The Kings defeated the Tasmania JackJumpers at Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday 11 May to sweep the NBL Grand Final best-of-five series 3-0 and claim the title. This is the first championship win for the Sydney Kings since 2005 and the club’s fourth-ever NBL Championship, adding to the three straight titles in 2003, 2004, 2005.

Victory celebration event details

Who  - Speeches from NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet; Sydney Kings coach Chase Buford; Finals MVP Xavier Cooks; and the full Sydney Kings squad will be there.

When - Saturday 14 May from 11:00am with free entertainment and opportunities for fans to take photos with the Championship trophy and Sydney Kings’ team mascots Cub and Lion.

The official ceremony will commence at 12:00pm and conclude at 12:30pm, followed by a meet and greet with players and an autograph signing session.

The best way to get to the Sydney Kings victory celebration is public transport. There are plenty of transport options to get you to and from Circular Quay so plan your trip and visit the Transport NSW website or Live Traffic.


A reserved inclusive viewing area for people with disability and mobility support requirements will be provided for this celebration at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.  Please register your attendance to prior to 3pm, Friday 13 May.
