Congratulations to the Sydney Kings!

To celebrate the 2022 NBL Grand Final victory of the Sydney Kings, a celebration event will be held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt at The Rocks on Saturday 14 May, hosted by the NSW Premier, the Honourable Dominic Perrottet MP.

The Sydney Kings basketball team are standing on a stage. Three players are holding a large trophy up high celebrating and the rest of the team have their arms up celebrating with them. There is confetti falling around them.

The event will give Sydneysiders a chance to turn up and congratulate the Sydney Kings, which sealed a history-making season this week by winning the club’s fourth ever NBL Championship, as well as giving the Sydney Kings a chance to thank fans for their support throughout the 2022 Series.

The Kings defeated the Tasmania JackJumpers at Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday 11 May to sweep the NBL Grand Final best-of-five series 3-0 and claim the title. This is the first championship win for the Sydney Kings since 2005 and the club’s fourth-ever NBL Championship, adding to the three straight titles in 2003, 2004, 2005.
