Your application was assessed through the following process:
- Create NSW staff conducted an initial eligibility check
- an assessment panel reviewed eligible applications and supporting material against the published assessment criteria
- the panel met to discuss applications and identify the most competitive proposals
- funding recommendations were made based on panel advice and available budget
- final funding decisions were approved by the Director, Program Development and Delivery, Create NSW.
Assessor comments
This page provides general assessment feedback to support future applications. The comments below reflect common themes discussed by the assessment panel and may not apply to every application.
Strong applications clearly demonstrated:
- the applicant’s career stage (eg emerging or established) substantiated with evidence
- a well-defined project purpose, included relevant information about key creatives (where applicable)
- how the proposed activities and intended outcomes would be supported through the funding
- clear and relevant evidence addressing each assessment criteria, with claims fully substantiated
- alignment between the funding activities selected in the application and the written responses
- a detailed and realistic budget, including notes explaining how significant costs were calculated
- functional and easily accessible weblinks to all support material.
Purchase of equipment applications
Strong applications demonstrated the following:
1. Fashion experience
- detailed evidence of relevant fashion experience, including career to date, current industry involvement, recognition, awards, and achievements (via written responses or a CV).
- substantiation of claims through Letters of Support or artistic support material (where relevant).
2. Impact on business development
- clear evidence of the intended benefit to business development and the significance of the opportunity.
- explanation of how the equipment strengthens industry participation for emerging designers.
- demonstration that the equipment is fit-for-purpose, unique, or specifically tailored to deliver benefits to the applicant’s practice and/or business.
- a clear evaluation plan outlining how outcomes and impacts will be measured, including relevant metrics or project plan benchmarks.
3. Viability of the activity
- evidence of the applicant’s capacity to undertake the activity and manage the project budget.
- transparency around financial relationships with any partners or collaborators, including remuneration arrangements.
- a clear and detailed budget for the activity, with relevant breakdown of costs and fees included, and evidence that the cost aligns with market rates.
Professional development applications
Strong applications demonstrated the following:
1. Fashion experience
- detailed evidence of relevant fashion experience, including career to date, current industry involvement, recognition, awards, and achievements (via written responses or a CV).
- substantiation of claims through Letters of Support or artistic support material (where relevant).
