Haymarket Creative Tenant Spotlight 12:30pm to 2pm | Floating Leaf Pictures is a filmmaking collective founded by David Ma, Johnathan Lo and Georgia Noe to produce independent films in their hometown of Sydney, Australia. Since coming together, Floating Leaf Pictures have produced three key projects with more short films in post-production and two feature films in early development stage. ExMateria is a contemporary, sustainable weaving studio that transforms unwanted materials into new items. Launched as a creative response to the growing problem of textile waste, ExMateria offers weaving classes and floor loom hire at their city-based studio in Haymarket. Taking inspiration from urban patterns, geometric forms, and the technical possibilities of the loom, they bring ancient skills into a modern context. Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) is a leading youth arts organisation dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians in Australia. With a mission to foster musical excellence, SYO offers a comprehensive program that combines rehearsals, tutorials, workshops, and public performances, allowing young people to develop their skills under the guidance of professional conductors, educators, and mentors. To be heard, to connect, to share joy.
