National Police Check certificate requirements

From 23 June 2026, applications for certain Building Commission NSW licences and certificates must include a National Police Check (NPC) certificate that is no more than 4 months old, issued by an Australian law enforcement agency such as NSW Police.

Individual applicants

If you are applying for a Tradesperson certificate, you can apply online through the Service NSW website or apply in person at any Service NSW Centre using the application form below.
