Building work category – Individual applicants

You should use the Applicant's Checklist for Individual Applicants – General Building Work if you are an individual applying for a licence or qualified supervisor certificate in the category of general building work.

Other building and trade work categories – Individual applicants 

You should use the Applicant's Checklist for Individual Applicants for other building and trade work categories if you are an individual applying for any of the following categories:

Specialist work categories – Individual applicants

• If you are applying for the category of Electrical, you can start your application online through the Service NSW website. This application is only for individuals. 

You should use the Applicant's Checklist for Individual Applicants for Specialist Work Categories if you are an individual applying for any of the following categories:

Company and partnership applicants 

You should use the Applicant's Checklist for a Company or Partnership if you are a company or partnership applying for a home building licence in any category of work. 

• If you are applying for the category of Company and Partnership Contractor Licence, you can start your application online through the Service NSW website.

Mutual recognition 

You should use the Home Building Mutual Recognition Application Form if you are an individual applying under the Mutual Recognition Act (New South Wales) Act 1992 or the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition (New South Wales) Act 1996 in any category of work.
