Unclaimed gaming machine prizes are paid to the Secretary. The Secretary then transfers the money into the Community Development Fund which is administered by the Office of Responsible Gambling.
This fund helps to pay for programs and initiatives that benefit the local community.
Unclaimed jackpots
If no one claims a gaming machine jackpot that was won on a progressive gaming machine within 12 months, the venue must pay the unclaimed money to the Secretary within 3 months.
Unclaimed gaming machine tickets
Gaming machine tickets expire 12 months after they are issued. Expired tickets cannot be redeemed.
Venues must display the details of any ticket worth $10 or more in a visible area of your venue at least 1 month before the ticket's expiration date.
Venues must display the following details of the gaming machine ticket:
- ticket issue date
- ticket expiry date
- gaming machine serial number
- ticket amount.
The venue must also indicate that a claim in respect of such ticket cannot be made after it expires.
Once the unclaimed ticket has expired, the venue must pay the value of the ticket to the Secretary within 3 months.

Once the unclaimed ticket has expired, the venue must pay the value of the ticket to the Secretary within 3 months. Make your payment through the customer payment portal.
