ClubGRANTS

ClubGRANTS was established in 1998 to ensure registered clubs in NSW with profits over $1 million contribute financial or in-kind support to local community services, programs, and projects.

Registered clubs that earn more than $1 million in gaming machine profits can take part in the ClubGRANTS Scheme (for both Category 1 and Category 2 funding). However, to receive the tax rebate, clubs must follow the legal requirements set out in the Act and ensure that their funding meets the eligibility rules in the ClubGRANTS Guidelines.

There are 3 ClubGRANTS categories:

Category 1

Eligible Category 1 expenditure is allocated by clubs to projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people, including:

  • Community welfare and social services
  • Community development
  • Community health services
  • Employment assistance activities.

A local committee must be established in areas where the Category 1 ClubGRANTS liability for all participating clubs exceeds $30,000 expenditure. For further information in relation to Local Committees, please refer to ClubGRANTS local committees.

For available funding opportunities in your local government area, please visit ClubsNSW to find your local grant round.

Category 2

Category 2 expenditure is allocated by clubs to community development and support activities and projects not listed under Category 1, and expenditure allocated to a club's core activities.

For example, sport, returned servicemen's league or veteran welfare, golf course and bowling green maintenance including wages paid to staff to carry out maintenance.

Category 3

Category 3 funding, or Infrastructure Grants, is administered by the Office of Responsible Gambling. To view Category 3 funding opportunities, please visit the ClubGRANTS Category 3 Fund.
