Compliance campaign into same day delivery of alcohol (SDAD)
In addition, L&GNSW attended venues holding packaged liquor licences to ensure that licensees and venue staff were aware of their responsibilities regarding SDAD, along with their requirements under legislation passed as part of the recent Vibrancy Reforms relating to unaccompanied minors.
The operation spanned from the Sydney Metropolitan area to the Central Coast of NSW and into regional towns such as Dubbo.
Outcomes

Whilst the majority of deliveries were completed and assessed as compliant, smaller liquor outlets that utilised their own staff to complete deliveries, were identified to be more frequently non-compliant with legislative requirements.
What do I need to do to be compliant?
- The person conducting the delivery must hold RSAT competency
- At the point of delivery, drivers are required to verify the recipient’s ID to confirm they are of legal age and that they are the individual who placed the order
- Minors must not be involved in any stage of the distribution of liquor
- Outlets must keep consistent and clear records confirming RSAT competency checks of drivers prior to handling alcohol for delivery.
L&GNSW continues to have a zero-tolerance approach to the sale and supply of liquor to minors and supplying liquor to an intoxicated person. Heavy penalties and/or imprisonment may apply.
