Funding applications open for community Clubgrants
Funding applications to support community infrastructure projects are now open through the NSW Government’s Clubgrants Category 3 fund.
A total of $12.75 million has been allocated to the grants program this financial year, which is funded by profits from registered clubs’ gaming machines to benefit community projects.
Office of Responsible Gambling Director Alison Parkinson said the Infrastructure Grants funding was available in four categories for a wide range of initiatives, including sport and recreation facilities, disaster readiness, community infrastructure, and arts and cultural spaces.
“Over the past two years more than $25 million has been provided to fund 160 community projects,” Ms Parkinson said.
“These grants have made a huge difference to local communities by bringing people together to form strong connections and provide vital support.
“This includes participation in sports and recreation, arts and culture, as well as assistance for medical and social programs and support to prepare or recover from natural disasters.”
Some of the projects that have recently been completed under the program include:
- Karitane Campbelltown - $184,706 to create a garden and play space for toddlers and carers participating in Karitane’s early parenting service.
- Dress for Success Sydney - $200,000 to fit out its Summer Hill facility to provide change rooms, clothes storage and workshops to support unemployed and underemployed women in NSW enter the workforce and gain independence.
- Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service – $168,750 to refurbish the WAMS Dental Clinic and provide additional storage for equipment.
- Container of Dreams, Drake (near Tenterfield) - $135,845 for a mobile community kitchen to provide meals and essential food supplies in the aftermath of natural disasters. The Drake community was severely impacted by the Black Summer Bushfires and the 2022 floods.
Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grants of up to $300,000 are available to fund the costs of construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure to support disadvantaged communities in NSW.
This includes communities in regional and remote areas, and people from culturally diverse, disability or First Nations communities.
Applications for the July round are now open and close on 21 July.
