Hospitality and Racing Strategy 2026-28 and Regulatory Priorities 2026
We have published the Hospitality and Racing Strategy 2026–28, alongside our new Liquor & Gaming NSW annual Regulatory Priorities, setting a clear path for reducing harm, supporting responsible industry growth, and meeting evolving community expectations.
The Strategy outlines Hospitality and Racing's vision, regulatory posture and strategic objectives.
Hospitality and Racing Strategy
When exercising our regulatory functions, we take a proactive approach - confronting high-risk behaviours, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility, and maintaining our commitment to minimising harm.
Over the next three years, our work will be guided by three strategic objectives to support communities, industry and our people:
- targeted harm reduction - using better data, education and engagement to focus on the areas where we can make the biggest difference
- outcome‑focused, responsive regulation - streamlined, place‑based and community‑informed approaches that deliver meaningful, real-world outcomes
- modern tools, skilled teams and smart decisions - investing in our capability, improving how we use data, and supporting consistent decision making across Hospitality and Racing.
Liquor & Gaming NSW 2026 Regulatory Priorities
Liquor & Gaming NSW’s annual Regulatory Priorities set out where we will be focusing our regulatory attention over the next 12 months. They provide transparency on our forward regulatory agenda and give industry the opportunity to proactively engage with us about the issues we are concerned about. The Regulatory Priorities consist of four enduring priorities and three focus areas for 2026.
You can find details of our priorities on the Regulatory Priorities webpage.
