3.12 Camden


New permanent public school delivered for Gregory HillsThe NSW Government opened a new, permanent public school at Gregory Hills Public School in July 2024. The multi-million dollar Gregory Hills Public School includes 44 classrooms, four support classrooms, a new library, communal hall, as well as staff, sporting and recreational amenities. Importantly, the new Gregory Hills Public School has the capacity to meet future enrolment growth demands, with the capacity to cater to more than 1,000 students. Prior to the completion of the permanent school, students were learning in a purpose-built temporary facility. |

Health
- $5.2 million to increase renal services in South West Sydney, including expanding the renal dialysis unit in Camden Hospital.
- $2.5 million to increase the sub-acute palliative care capacity at Camden Hospital.
Education
- Work is ongoing to progress delivery of the NSW Government’s 100 public preschools commitment at Leppington Public School.
- A new primary school for Emerald Hills, including a new preschool.
- Continuation of works for new and existing schools, including Gledswood Hills/Gregory Hills – new high school, Leppington/Denham Court – new high school and Leppington Public School upgrade.
- Construction of new Covered Outdoor Learning Areas (COLA) at Camden Public School and Elizabeth Macarthur High School.
- Investment in attracting and retaining teachers led to schools in Camden starting the 2025 school year with 15 per cent fewer vacancies than the same time in 2023, and 70.2 per cent fewer vacancies from the peak of the teacher shortage crisis.
Transport
Continuing to deliver better roads and transport for Camden:
- new dedicated bus services connecting Camden to the Western Sydney International Airport
- $93.0 million over four years for planning for West and South West Sydney roads, jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments
- $54.7 million over four years for the development of South West Sydney rail projects jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments
- $12.4 million over four years for planning for Spring Farm Parkway Stage 2 jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.
Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
- Continuation of the $217.1 million investment to upgrade West Camden’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to support growth in the South West corridor and the West Camden catchment area.
Planning, Housing and Infrastructure
- $1.0 million for infrastructure upgrades at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan.
