Health

Continue to deliver:

• $105.0 million Moree Hospital redevelopment.
• $53.0 million Gunnedah Hospital redevelopment.
• $50.0 million Glen Innes Hospital upgrade.

Education

• 2,512 teachers receiving a pay rise.
• One public preschool under construction and one school under construction.
• New public early learning at Inverell Public School, delivered in partnership with the Australian Government through the Building Early Education Fund Agreement.
• Ongoing delivery of the government’s 100 public preschools commitment, including at Toomelah, Hillvue and Warialda public schools.
• Continued funding for upgrades to Tamworth High School as part of the High Potential and Gifted Education Partner School program.

Transport

• $2.4 million in 2026–27 to continue construction of north and south bound rest areas on the Newell Highway south of Moree.
• Funding in 2026–27 for the Regional Corridor Upgrades – Muswellbrook to Armidale (Phase 1 and 2), supporting the New England renewable energy zones.

Continue to deliver over four years:

• $163.6 million for the Newell Highway heavy-duty pavement rehabilitation.
• $35.0 million for the New England Highway duplication (Goonoo Goonoo Road).

Communities and justice

• Continued delivery of the Aboriginal Child and Family Advocacy and Support program by Aboriginal Legal Service in Moree. The program provides culturally safe early assistance, legal and non-legal advocacy and support to Aboriginal families at risk of out-of-home care.

Primary industries and regional development

• $1.7 million for the Regional Drought Resilience Planning program, including:
  • $450,000 for Liverpool Plains and Gunnedah Shire
  • $450,000 for Northern New England High Country – Glen Innes Severn and Tenterfield Shire
  • $450,000 for Armidale and Uralla Shire.
• $1.2 million to deliver a major expansion of Narrabri Fish Farm onshore aquaculture and aquaponics operations.

Continue to deliver:

• $138.3 million Moree Special Activation Precinct to develop a thriving business hub to diversify its strong agricultural economy.
• $5.0 million International Flight Training Tamworth facility upgrade, which will modernise facilities, improve productivity, attract investment and create employment opportunities, fostering economic growth and sustainability.
