Southern border small business support grant
Grants of $5000 and $10,000 are available to support small businesses impacted by the closure of the NSW and Victoria border.
The Southern Border Small Business Support Grant can provide immediate, short-term cashflow assistance to small businesses in 13 Local Government Areas affected by the southern border restrictions.
PPE production grants
The NSW Government is opening a $5 million grants scheme to establish a reliable, domestic supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) products that have been critical in the response to COVID-19 including masks, gowns, disinfectant, handwash and soap or their components.
The grant scheme seeks to deliver assistance to manufacturers or businesses that:
- currently manufacture and can increase production
- are looking to “retool” and pivot their existing manufacturing lines to produce specified PPE products. This can also include the materials used to make those specified PPE products.
Cash flow for employers payments
The Australian Government's Boosting cash flow for employers payment provides $20,000 to $100,000 to eligible small and medium-sized businesses, and not for profits that:
- employ people
- have an aggregated annual turnover under $50 million.
The Australian Taxation Office will deliver the payment as a credit to the business on lodgment of their activity statements. No new forms are required.
Small and medium exporters in NSW will benefit from the $12 million Going Global support program aimed at creating jobs and supporting the regions. The package includes assistance grants for exporters, tailored workshops and opportunities to explore new markets.
Export Assistance Grants of up to $10,000 are available for up to 1,000 export ready or export capable NSW businesses, helping them access new markets or re-enter old ones where business has ceased.
Support for injured workers
To help injured workers return to work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) offers a range of support including financial incentives for employers and employees.
The Australian Government's HomeBuilder grant provides eligible owner-occupiers with a $25,000 grant to help build new homes or make substantial renovations to existing homes.
To find out more about the HomeBuilder program and eligibility, visit Revenue NSW.
The Australian Government will guarantee 50% of new loans issued by eligible financial institutions to small-to-medium enterprises (including sole traders and not-for-profits).
Financial counselling for small businesses in regional areas
The Australian Government has committed more than $4.7 million to provide small regional businesses affected by COVID-19 with access to free and confidential financial counselling.
The funding would help eligible small businesses access the immediate advice and assistance they need to keep afloat and navigate the road to recovery.
Regional small businesses can register their interest by calling 1300 771 741.
