2021 COVID-19 Support Package
The 2021 COVID-19 Support Package will help tens of thousands of small businesses and people across NSW impacted by the current COVID-19 restrictions.
The package is designed to support businesses and keep people in jobs during the restrictions, which commenced in June 2021.
Small and medium exporters in NSW will benefit from the $12 million Going Global support program aimed at creating jobs and supporting the regions. The package includes assistance grants for exporters, tailored workshops and opportunities to explore new markets.
Export Assistance Grants of up to $10,000 are available for up to 1,000 export ready or export capable NSW businesses, helping them access new markets or re-enter old ones where business has ceased.
The COVID-19 TechVoucher program provides support funding for technology-rich startups, scaleups or small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to collaborate with Publicly Funded Research Organisations (PFROs).
The aim of the program is to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative R&D products and services that address disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Support for injured workers
To help injured workers return to work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) offers a range of support including financial incentives for employers and employees.
The Australian Government’s SME Recovery Loan Scheme is designed to support the economic recovery, and to provide continued assistance, to firms currently on JobKeeper.
The Government will work with lenders to ensure that eligible firms will have access to finance to maintain and grow their businesses when JobKeeper ends.
The scheme is designed to support small-to-medium enterprises including sole traders and not-for-profits.
Financial counselling for small businesses in regional areas
The Australian Government has committed more than $4.7 million to provide small regional businesses affected by COVID-19 with access to free and confidential financial counselling.
The funding would help eligible small businesses access the immediate advice and assistance they need to keep afloat and navigate the road to recovery.
