Resources and guidance on how to complete a COVID-19 Safety Plan for your agriculture business or farm.

Be COVID Safe. Stay in business.

Border control permits for agricultural organisations, employers and workers

There is a separate COVID-19 Safety Plan required for anyone obtaining the NSW Agricultural Worker Permit. This permit will allow workers to travel between NSW and Victoria under strict conditions.

An agricultural worker is a person performing an agricultural industry activity that is not able to be performed remotely. It includes a seasonal worker performing an agricultural industry activity.

Employers or clients of agriculture workers must have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place to exempt workers from hotel quarantine on arrival, and workers must:

  • comply with the plan
  • carry the plan with them at all times.

COVID-19 Safety Plans and COVID Safe registration

Having a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place will help minimise risk of transmission of COVID-19 on your premises.

Agriculture businesses and farms should also consider the benefits of registering as COVID Safe.

Complete the plan in consultation with your workers, then share it with them.

Keep your plan up to date

You may need to update the plan in the future, as restrictions and advice changes.

You will need to have an up to date plan at your premises at all times and be able to show it to an authorised officer if requested.

Your COVID-19 Safety Plan

You can either:

  • use the provided COVID-19 Safety Plan to address the checklist of matters for agricultural businesses
  • keep using your existing plan, if you have one, after making sure it includes all the items in the provided COVID-19 Safety Plan.
