Maritime operations

Resources and guidance on how to complete a COVID-19 Safety Plan, register and stay in business.

Update on Northern Rivers restrictions

Temporary restrictions in the Byron, Tweed, Ballina and Lismore areas have been lifted. All of NSW now has one set of COVID-19 rules for what you can do.

If required, complete the relevant COVID-19 Safety Plan for your business, venue, organisation or event, keep a copy of your plan, and provide it to an authorised person when asked.

COVID-19 Safety Plans are mandatory

Under Public Health Orders occupiers of wharves (operators) and vessels must have a COVID-19 Safety Plan.

Complete the plan in consultation with staff, then share it with them.

There is a separate COVID-19 Safety Plan for commercial vessels (including tours, functions, parties or similar recreational activities).

Businesses should also consider the benefits of registering as COVID Safe.

Keep your plan up to date

You may need to update the plan in the future, as restrictions and advice changes.

Your COVID-19 Safety Plan

You can either:

  • use the provided COVID-19 Safety Plan to address the checklist of matters for maritime operations
  • keep using your existing plan, if you have one, after making sure it includes all the items in the provided COVID-19 Safety Plan.
