Say "I do" to a micro-wedding for WorldPride 2023
As Sydney gears up to host WorldPride in 2023, the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has three enviable micro-wedding locations ready to book for customers wanting to profess their mega love on a micro scale.
Acting NSW Registrar Amit Padhiar said weddings and vow renewals would be available across Sydney’s most iconic locations, including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb and Manly Yacht Club in conjunction with the WorldPride festival between 17 February and 5 March 2023.
“While this is the first time Sydney will host WorldPride, it will also mark more than five years since same-sex marriage was legalised in Australia which is really something to celebrate,” Mr Padhiar said.
“Since 2017 the Registry has married more than 1000 amazing same-sex couples and we are so excited to be part of the wedding bliss journey with our LGBTIQA+ community.
“With tailor-made packages starting at $1199, our micro-weddings are a real show stopping experience for those couples looking for all the pizazz without the fuss.”
The Registry will also welcome international and domestic couples travelling to Sydney for WorldPride 2023 and looking for the opportunity to get married or renew their vows.
“We welcome all couples who can be legally married to take part in the spirit of celebrating equality and inclusivity,” Mr Padhiar said.
“For our wonderful international visitors who want to celebrate their love at some of the most iconic venues in Sydney and create lifelong memories, get in touch with the Registry and lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the big day.
“We can’t think of a better place than Sydney to host WorldPride and celebrate Australia's brilliant and diverse LGBTIQA+ community in a city renowned for its diversity, inclusivity and proud LGBTIQA+ community.
The Registry is offering up to 50 ceremonies which will be going on sale from Friday 21 October.
