SafeWork NSW is reminding farmers to wear seatbelts, use helmets and choose the right vehicle when using side-by-side vehicles, quad bikes and motorcycles after a spate of incidents where people, including children, have been seriously injured or killed while using farm vehicles.

Holiday-goers visiting rural properties across the Christmas and New Year period are being reminded to follow the safety rules of property owners and keep in mind most farms are also workplaces.

SafeWork Inspectors have begun visiting excavation sites throughout the State to ensure safety and remind those excavating about ‘Before Your Dig Australia’ requirements.

SafeWork NSW is focusing on safety on farms and agricultural business across regional NSW as part of National Agriculture Day by providing education on how workplaces can prevent risks specific to the farming industry.
