Aboriginal Affairs’ Binaal Billa regional office, based on the traditional land of the Wiradjuri Nation in Dubbo, plays a key role in supporting Aboriginal self-determination and improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities across the region.
In total, the Binaal Billa Region supports 38 communities, working with 23 Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs), 30 Local Government Areas (LGA’s) and 10 Discrete Aboriginal Communities (DACs). We engage closely with community leaders, organisations and government partners to:
- Support community-led decision making and advocate for local priorities
- Facilitate local engagement and partnerships across key areas.
- Provide advice and guidance to other agencies to ensure Aboriginal voices and aspirations are heard.
