Who we are
Your information is being collected by Building Commission NSW, as part of the Department of Customer Service (DCS).
Building Commission NSW gives priority to protecting the privacy of your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act).

Why we collect your personal information
Building Commission NSW, as part of the Department of Customer Service, is collecting your personal information through this form.
The purpose of the collection is to understand your experience of applying to become a Building Certifier (Class 1 & 10) in NSW and identify how we can improve the process.
The kinds of information we collect
We may collect the following information:
- your full name
- your email address
- your phone number
- whether you speak English as a second language
- information about your employment and experience as a Building Certifier.
Failure to provide information
Providing us with the requested information is not required by law. However, if you choose not to provide us with the requested information, we will not be able to interview you for this project.
How we may use this information
We will use the personal information we collect about you to improve the application process for becoming a registered Building Certifier in NSW.
How we may disclose this information
We will not provide your personal information to third parties for any purposes not already stated in this privacy collection notice, or to which you have not otherwise consented, unless the Department of Customer Service is required, or authorised, by law to do so.
Protecting your information
We will store and manage your information in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. We have measures in place to help protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse.
We will only keep information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. After which, the information will be disposed of securely in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 and any other applicable legislation.
