Who we are
Your information is being collected by Building Commission NSW, as part of the Department of Customer Service. Building Commission NSW gives priority to protecting the privacy of your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP Act).

Why we collect your personal information
Building Commission NSW, as part of the Department of Customer Service, is collecting your personal information through this Microsoft form.
The purpose of the collection is to register Building Commission NSW licence holders from the Hunter region who intend to attend an in-person regulatory information update. We will be providing these licence holders with important information about the event.
What personal information we collect
We may collect the following information:
- Your full name
- Your email address
Are you required by law to provide us with this information?
Providing us with the requested information is not required by law. However if you choose not to provide us with the requested information we may not be able to register you for the regulatory update.
How we may use this information
We will use the personal information we collect about you to register you for the regulatory update and provide you with important information about the event, such as location, timing and content. We may also use the information to communicate any extraordinary circumstances such as notifying attendees of the cancellation of the event or other emergency-type information.
This may include:
- Internal administrative purposes, including liaising with you in relation to the event, and in relation to compliance, investigations, and enforcement of relevant Acts and Regulations.
- To administer and update your licence, including to send you information that we consider important such as reminders to renew licences and to confirm your details if you make any subsequent applications in relation to any licence or authority issued by Building Commission NSW, on behalf of the Department of Customer Service.
- In deidentified form, to support more informed policy making, program management, evaluation, research, and service planning. Other directly related purposes.
Who we may share your information with
We may disclose this information with teams in Department of Customer Service for the purpose of this specific event on 17 March 2026. This would be for purposes such as catering and room set up.
We may disclose your personal information to other NSW Government agencies, or other State or Territory governments and/or the Commonwealth government for the purposes of summarising this event, and for any compliance, enforcement and investigation purposes as required or authorised by law.
Other than as outlined above, we will not provide your personal information to anyone else unless we are authorised or permitted to do so by law or where you have given consent.

Protecting your information
We will store and manage your information in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. We have measures in place to help protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse.
We will only keep information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes we collected it for. After which, the information will be disposed of securely in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 and any other applicable legislation.
