An improved Swimming Pool Register is launching soon

What's changing?

The updated register will deliver a user-friendly experience and provide clearer and more accurate reporting of pool compliance and inspection outcomes required under NSW legislation. 

Key improvements include:

• A better online user experience for consumers, local councils and registered building certifiers.
• Single source of truth for NSW pool registrations and compliance status.
• Pools and spas will no longer be registered under an owner's personal details. Instead, registration will be based on the property address only, as the pool or spa is linked to the property rather than the individual owner.
• Clearer role-based access for council and registered building certifier users helping streamline the inspection process and record management (as well as reducing the common issue of duplicate records).
• More relevant and reliable information for all users within the register. 

When will the updated register be available?

The updated register will launch in mid March 2026. 

After it has launched, councils and building certifiers will begin using the updated register for managing swimming pool and spa compliance. 

What councils and certifiers need to do

If you already have an account on the Swimming Pool Register, you do not need to create a new one. 

Existing council and registered building certifier account holders will receive a welcome email with instructions to reset their password when the updated register goes live.

The website URL address will remain the same, and you can continue accessing the register as you normally do.
