Regional Arts Touring 2024/25 Round 2 recipients
Discover the 10 touring arts and cultural productions that received support through Create NSW’s 2024/25 Regional Arts Touring funding program (Round 2). These tours will head out on the road to 36 regional communities to fill the many world-class venues, galleries, theatres and cultural spaces across regional NSW.

Large Tours
Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation - The Secrets of Dawn Regional Tour The Secrets of Dawn Tour is a truth-telling exhibition that brings to light the propaganda within Dawn Magazine (1940-1969) used to progress the agenda of assimilation. The exhibition features historical materials, Survivor testimonies and contemporary artworks, touring key regional locations with cultural significance to Stolen Generations communities in Wiradjuri, Gumbaynggirr, Awabakal, Birpai Country and other regional galleries.

Dance Makers Collective - All In Regional NSW Tour In 2026, Dance Makers Collective (DMC) will undertake a deeply community-engaged reimagining of All In with regional communities across Wiradjuri Country. In partnership with Arts on Tour (AOT) and regional venues including Leeton Roxy Theatre, Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre and Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre, DMC will collaborate with regional dancers/communities to present highly localised iterations of All In, celebrating the breadth of NSW dance.

The Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre - Regional NSW and outer metro tour of Joanna Murray Smith’s play Bombshells Regionally-based professional theatre company Echo Theatre will undertake a seven-week, 20-venue national tour of Joanna Murray Smith's "Bombshells", with Arts On Tour, communicating stories of women at various life stages, each dealing with universal themes such as love, identity, parenting, ambition, and aging. Reversing the traditional touring flow "Bombshells" will tour from regional NSW (nine NSW regional venues) to three outer Sydney venues (including two in Western Sydney) in 2026.

Tweed Regional Museum - How To Draw A Dinosaur Touring Exhibition How to Draw a Dinosaur seamlessly blends art and science, inviting audiences of all ages to explore the captivating world of dinosaurs through both creative expression and scientific discovery. This innovative dinosaur exhibition, made for smaller museums and galleries, will benefit regional audiences who would otherwise not have access to dinosaur exhibitions. Touring to Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Bathurst and Albury.

Small Tours
Jenny Ellis, A tour of Trinket the Robot, by Little Wing Puppets, and puppetry workshops to 14 remote communities in Western NSW. Performances of Trinket the Robot across 14 communities in Western NSW in 2026, accompanied with skill development workshops The Puppetry of Paper. The tour will provide access to affordable, high-quality arts experiences for young people living in remote regions of NSW including Balranald, Bourke, Brewarrina, Broken Hill, Buronga, Cobar, Coonamble, Deniliquin, Nyngan, Pooncarie, Walgett, Wentworth, White Cliffs, and Wilcannia.

Intimate Spectacle Pty Ltd - re:group performance collective’s 2026 national regional tour of ‘POV’ & ‘AUTO-TUNE’. NSW regional tour is part of an 8.5 week national tour, employing a team of 11 to present two acclaimed new re:group works: ‘POV’ and ‘AUTO-TUNE’. This second major regional tour from the independent group will establish them as a repertory company of note, bringing exemplary innovative theatre to enrich regional communities in NSW including Tathra, Coffs Harbour and Newcastle (as part of the New Annual Festival).

Mandela Mathia - Regional tour of the Belvoir St Theatre production LOSE TO WIN by Mandela Mathia. Touring LOSE TO WIN to three regional NSW venues (Bathurst, Gosford and Queanbeyan) as part of a six-week, 10-venue national tour with a projected audience of 4,000. Written and performed by Mandela Mathia in his writing debut, this one act play charts his extraordinary journey to Australia from South Sudan.

Max McAuley - Regional Tour of Max to the Max: An Artist Showcase Developed, curated and performed by Max McAuley, from the Northern Rivers, Max to the Max showcases his many talents in dance, theatre, art and performance. Performing across a number of dance genres, the show will include comedy, drag and digital photography. Following a successful premiere at Brunswick Picture House in 2024, Max’s debut tour will engage new audiences in Lismore, Bellingen and Newcastle.

Phunktional Limited - SEEN SEEN, an interactive theatre performance around issues of online hate speech, as experienced by a 17-year-old Australian First Nations woman from a country town. This contemporary Australian story is being created using a Community Arts and Cultural Development process and follows our protagonist's journey from instafame to isolation. Through her connection to Culture and support from family and friends she finds the strength to celebrate herself, her community and connect more with the world around her. The slow tour model incorporates a residency program in Deniliquin, Balranald, Tocumwal, Albury and Hay.

Voices of Women Incorporated, Regional Tour of Women of the Riverina Women of the Riverina tour will engage and inspire Albury, Cootamundra and Tumut communities with inclusive story-making workshops, podcasts, and a live show with professional performing artists and music.
