ID Support NSW visits AgQuip in Gunnedah

ID Support NSW will attend AgQuip in Gunnedah during 18 to 20 August joining the showcasing and   
demonstration of new technology and innovation in the Australian agricultural industry.  

The three-day event brings more than 3000 products and services to farming professionals and the   
broader industry, and now also the expertise of ID Support NSW.  

Thousands of locals and visitors are expected to attend the event with ID Support NSW helping  
people and small businesses keep their data more secure, discuss any concerns they might have   
and provide any guidance on their personal circumstances in a judgement-free environment.  

The team’s attendance at the AgQuip shows the NSW Government’s commitment to the NSW Digital   
Inclusion Strategy which is designed to address the challenges faced by vulnerable and   
disadvantaged communities when interacting online through community cybersecurity and privacy   
training.  

Consultation on the strategy revealed more than 80 per cent of respondents had experienced online   
scams, privacy breaches or harassment, with at-risk groups disproportionally affected. These   
sessions will ensure tailored advice and recommendations can be provided to at risk members of the   
community.  

More than 58,000 scams were reported in NSW in 2025 worth more than $111 million with scammers   
mostly using emails, phone calls and text messages, according to ScamWatch.  

So far this year, ID Support NSW has attended events in Wyong, Bathurst, Coonabarabran, Dubbo,   
Katoomba and Narramine showing an ongoing commitment to supporting people in the regions in   
protecting their identity, understanding current scam trends how to prevent and recover if they have   
been victims of a scam or identity fraud.
