NSW showcases global EdTech leadership as Sydney hosts four days of innovation and ideas
New South Wales will take centre stage in global education technology next week as Sydney hosts the NSW EdTech Summit and EDUtech Australia, bringing together educators, innovators and industry leaders from around the world from 1–4 June.
The NSW EdTech Summit, running from 1-2 June, launches four days of discussion, collaboration and discovery by showcasing Sydney-based education providers’ leading edtech solutions. EDUtech Australia will follow from 3–4 June at the ICC - the country’s largest education technology conference and exhibition, attracting more than 10,000 attendees and over 400 international delegates.
Together, the events will showcase how technology is transforming education - from schools and universities through to workforce skills and training - while reinforcing NSW’s position as a leader in the rapidly expanding EdTech sector.
NSW is home to around 300 EdTech companies, employing more than 8,200 people and generating $1.7 billion in annual revenue, including nearly $530 million in exports, making it one of the largest and most diverse EdTech ecosystems in Australia.
Attendees will be able to experience live demonstrations, hear from global thought leaders, and explore how technology is improving learning outcomes, strengthening teaching practice, and preparing students for the future workforce.
The NSW Government is delivering the NSW EdTech Summit in partnership with education providers and Study NSW is a proud sponsor of EDUtech through to 2027, supporting NSW’s EdTech leadership across the Asia-Pacific.
The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner is amplifying the experience of EDUtech delegates by offering discounts at eateries and entertainment venues within the Chippendale precinct.
The events will help showcase NSW’s capabilities to international markets and drive investment, exports and global collaboration.
The NSW Trade and Investment Strategy sets out a 10-year vision to grow and diversify exports, and attract investment to support the prosperity of the state’s economy. Digital technologies and international education are identified as key opportunities for diversification and an enabling pathway to talent in critical skills areas for NSW.
International education is NSW’s largest services export and generated $21 billion in export income for NSW in 2025, highlighting its importance as a driver of economic growth, global engagement and workforce development.
Hosting the NSW EdTech Summit and EDUtech Australia reinforces NSW’s reputation as a place where ideas, talent and technology come together, and where the future of education is being shaped.
Investment NSW Deputy Secretary Rebecca McPhee said:
“New South Wales is proud to be home to one of Australia’s strongest EdTech ecosystems, and these events are a powerful showcase of the innovation happening right here in our state.
“The NSW EdTech Summit and EDUtech Australia bring together educators, entrepreneurs and industry leaders from across Australia and around the world to share ideas, test what’s possible and build partnerships that will shape the future of education.
“As technology continues to transform how we learn and work, initiatives like this help strengthen teaching practice, lift student outcomes and build the skills our future workforce will need.
“Through our NSW Trade and Investment Strategy, we are focused on growing high‑value industries like EdTech, supporting businesses to export, and strengthening NSW’s global partnerships.
“These events highlight why NSW is a global destination for education and innovation - connecting our world‑class institutions, cutting‑edge technology and international networks to deliver real benefits for students, educators and the economy.”
