More than 80 free programs covering sport, creative arts and cultural activities are on offer for young people in the regions allowing them to keep connected and entertained during the school break.
The NSW Government also has a number of program partnerships which cover everything from art and science to sport and cultural connectedness allowing young people to grow their existing skills and expand their horizons over the break.
Rugby NSW is offering skills development camps, Create NSW has a range of artistic activities, KYUP! delivers self-defence and empowerment workshops and One Giant Leap encourages learning about the wonders of space.
Youth Development Officer Ashley Darby from Eurobodalla Shire Council said the funding from the Holiday Break program will allow them to host the Spring Up block party to bring together young people in Bateman’s Bay and surrounds.
“It’s a great and fun way for young people to meet new friends and develop connections within their community, which they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do,” Ms Darby said.
“Young people can roll into Spring with free youth activities with everything from skate, scooter, roller blading and BMX competitions to basketball, freestyle games and community art making.”
The NSW Government’s Holiday Break interactive map is now available online making it easier to find activities in your local area.
