The roundtable event, which will be chaired by the Hon. Rose Jackson MLC the Minister for Youth, will bring together representatives from the Department of Regional NSW, the Department of Communities and Justice, the Advocate for Children and Young People, Youth NSW, Treasury NSW, Office of Social Impact Investment and a number of members of Philanthropy Australia.
Director at the Department of Regional NSW, Julia Ryan, said the event is a great opportunity to come together and discuss issues involving young people in NSW and identify opportunities for future collaboration, funding and investment from the philanthropic sector.
"This is the first time we've had such a broad range of stakeholders across multiple sectors in one room to collaborate on the priority needs of young people across NSW and identify the funding gaps," Ms Ryan said.
"I'm really excited to hear from other government agencies and the philanthropic organisations to see what efficiencies can be made in how we can better support young people."
Philanthropy Australia CEO Jack Heath said he is looking forward to working with government and driving change for young people.
"Philanthropy Australia warmly welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with the NSW government in organising this roundtable," he said.
"Together, we aim to facilitate a robust exchange of knowledge and insights, shedding light on the pressing issues affecting young people in NSW.
"By sharing knowledge and aligning the priorities of both funders and government agencies, we hope to drive meaningful change and create a brighter future for young people in New South Wales."
Philanthropy Australia will be accompanied by 10 members at the event including Waratah Education Foundation Ltd, The Foundation for Young Australians, Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation, Australian Schools Plus, Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, Sheargold Foundation, Siddle Family Foundation, The Paul Ramsay Foundation and St George Foundation / Westpac Foundation.
