Liquor & Gaming NSW sits in the Hospitality and Racing group in the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport.
Our focus

- industry supervision activities including:
- licensing decision-making and administration
- compliance operations

- revenue assurance and integrity oversight of casino operations.

- policy and program implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
This includes:
- 10 acts to regulate
- 19,000+ liquor licenses in NSW
- 3,600+ reports of non-compliance received annually
- $3.1 billion of revenue assured annually

Our initiatives include:
Responsible Gambling Fund
- The Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF) finances programs and services.
- These aim to reduce and help individuals experiencing gambling harm across NSW.
Liquor Accords
- Liquor Accords are voluntary community partnerships. We empower Accords to deliver innovative strategies that address local issues.
- They develop strategies to reduce alcohol-related harm in local communities. We aim to build and support liquor accords to be effective in:
- reducing alcohol-related violence
- antisocial behaviour
- and other harm.

Infrastructure Grants
- Infrastructure grants offer state-wide funding for large projects.
- These projects are associated with sport, health, and community infrastructure.

Community Development Fund
- The Community Development Fund creates and implements programs for community benefit.
- The fund is financed through unclaimed poker machine jackpots and gaming machine tickets.
