Do not deal with Mehmet Onkun also known as Mick Onkun
NSW consumers are being warned not to deal with Mehmet Onkun who also uses the name Mick Onkun (trading as Europe Cement Rendering, Europe Cement Rendering and Concrete, Illawarra Concreting and Constructions, Illawarra Concreting and Excavations).
NSW consumers are being warned not to deal with Mehmet Onkun who also uses the name Mick Onkun and who is understood to trade through business names including Europe Cement Rendering, Europe Cement Rendering and Concrete, Illawarra Concreting and Constructions, Illawarra Concreting and Excavations and variations of those names.
NSW Fair Trading has many complaints about Mr Onkun and several of these matters are currently under investigation.
Mr Onkun does not hold a licence under the Home Building Act authorising him to contract for or perform residential building work.
The complaints received relate to consumers who contracted with Mr Onkun for various kinds of work including concreting, driveways, pathways, retaining walls, kitchen and bathroom renovations, fencing, rendering, tiling, and carpentry.
Consumers complain that work is performed without council approval (where Mr Onkun agreed to obtain relevant approvals) and that work is incomplete and unsafe. Consumers also complain that Mr Onkun has demanded large cash deposits for work and after receiving payment has not done the work and refused to refund the money.
Anyone who has had problems in their dealings with Mr Onkun should contact NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20 to lodge a complaint.
