Licence suspended for RS Rewards
RS Rewards has been prohibited from any gaming activities in NSW for 18 months for persistent breaches of the Community Gaming Act 2018 and Community Gaming Regulation 2020.
RS Rewards is a subscription-based rewards club offering members discounts on certain products and services, prize draws and access to events.
The prohibition order issued by NSW Fair Trading follows an investigation into RS Rewards in relation to contraventions of the law including:
- Twenty-nine breaches in 2025 where RS Rewards failed to notify the Secretary of trade promotion activities and rules of those activities;
- Conducting a “spin and win” activity on 26 November 2025 which is not a permitted gaming activity;
- Offered an illegal trade promotion activity on 19 September 2025 for a “79 Series & Caravan” or $500,000” and accepted payment of $10 for 40 entries;
- Accepted payment of $9for Basic Rewards Membership and allocated 210 entries to a NSW resident in the “Same Day Hilux or $80,000” trade promotion on 8 May 2026 at a time when no gaming authority was in force;
- Continued to conduct gaming activities in NSW following cancellation of its gaming authority on 13 March 2026;
- Failed to show an understanding of compliance requirements of trade promotions in NSW despite engagement with NSW Fair Trading.
Further to the allegations, NSW Fair Trading also found RS Rewards engaged in ongoing and misleading conduct, showing it does not have systems or compliance in place to follow the law and is unlikely to introduce them to a level which would ensure compliance.
RS Rewards is prohibited from holding a licence until 22 December 2027. Failure to comply with a prohibition order carries a maximum penalty of $5,500.
