Families encouraged to Go4Fun
Parents and carers can now enrol their primary school-aged children into a free 10-week healthy lifestyle program.
Go4Fun Online is a healthy lifestyle program that has been updated to better meet families’ needs.
Chelsea Edwards, A/Director Allied Health and Integrated Community Services for Far West LHD said families can now do the online program at their own pace, and set their own health goals, in partnership with their very own health coach.
Go4Fun Online includes 10 online lessons families complete together, a weekly phone call with a qualified and dedicated health coach, activities to do in real life as a family, connections with other families online, and children can earn tokens along the way to receive a reward at the end of the program.
“Small changes can make a big difference, and we want to encourage families to give it a go,” Ms Edwards said.
“Families can enrol in Go4Fun Online at any time and complete the free program in a way that best suits them.”
The online content is interactive and mobile friendly.
Go4Fun Online supports families to learn practical skills to make healthier food choices by understanding food groups and portion sizes, how to read food nutrition labels, increase mindfulness, improve sleep and move more in the day.
The program also supports families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds through culturally adapted resources and a bi-lingual Arabic speaking health coach. Interpreter services are also available on request.
