The FWLHD finalists are:
- Early Career Allied Health Professional of the Year – Stephanie Wylie (Nutrition and Dietetics), Dietitian at Broken Hill Health Service.
- Allied Health Leader of the Year – Rebecca Smith (Occupational Therapy), Manager Integrated Care, FWLHD.
The awards acknowledge the passion, dedication and contributions that allied health professionals and their support staff provide in NSW. The awards also demonstrate NSW Health's commitment, respect and value to the critical contribution that allied health has in delivering patient-centred care
“Far West LHD is very excited and extremely proud to have two finalists in the Allied Health Awards,” Mr Brad Astill, Chief Executive, Far West LHD said.
Mr Astill said the awards celebrate and recognise the positive impact allied health professionals have on their patients and the significant contribution they make to their profession and their community.
“I am extremely proud of the contributions our allied health staff make every day, particularly their efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We wish our finalists all the very best in the awards.”
Ms Wylie and Ms Smith said: “It is an absolute privilege to work with the people in the Far West as Allied Health professionals to assist with their health needs. It is an honour to be nominated and represent the staff and great clinical work happening here in the Far West LHD.”
The Excellence in Allied Health Awards will be celebrated on 23 February 2023 and livestreamed.
