FWLHD Integrated Care Services goes digital with new podcast
The Far West Local Health District’s (FWLHD) Integrated Care Services has taken to the airwaves with a podcast to showcase the services on offer and introduce their team to the community.
The first episode of ‘Far West of Centre – Health in Outback NSW – Osteoarthritis’ will be available 18th December 2023 with a new episode released weekly.
Rebecca Smith, Integrated Care Manager FWLHD, and host of the podcast, hopes everyone will tune in to hear about the services available and learn some new tips.
“This new podcast is an exciting opportunity for us to introduce our amazing team and showcase the Integrated Care services on offer to people across the Far West LHD,” Ms Smith said.
“Season one consists of 10 episodes and will give a general overview of the team and their services. The team will cover topics such as Osteoarthritis, Menopause, Healthy Feet, and the Wellbeing Health In-Reach Nurse (WHIN) Coordinator program including how people can access the services and what benefit they could provide.”
The Far West LHD ‘Health In Outback NSW’ podcast team (from left, sitting) Rebecca Smith, Juanita White, Ellen Phillips, James Wells and Marilyn Williams, and (standing) Melissa Welsh, Alana Gilius, Nick Minns, Sam Greville, Tahlia Crampton, Jane Helmore, Kara Leonard and Mary-Jane Stenfors.
Juanita White Project Manager for Integrated Care and Podcast Producer said a further four seasons are planned, which will likely look to discuss more about Menopause, Young People, Healthy Steps, as well as High Risk Foot Services.
“It’s been a lot of fun and at times a steep learning curve” said Ms White.
“We hope listeners enjoy the topics and learn about the many services we have in Integrated Care. We are very proud of clinicians for giving this innovative idea a chance and hope the community enjoy it as much as we did pulling it together.”
