'Luv Ya Girlfriend' donation to help cancer patients in FWLHD
The ‘Luv Ya Girlfriend’ annual fundraiser has raised an amazing $4,380 to support the Broken Hill and District Community Cancer Network (BHDCCN).
The BHDCCN assists with providing basic financial support if required for people with a cancer diagnosis, such as one-off payments of utility bills or household accounts up the value of $850 per patient.
The annual Luv Ya Girlfriend gathering celebrates friendships over an afternoon tea, and as a by-product, raise money through raffles for a very worthy cause. Even with ‘two years off’ due to COVID, the group has raised an incredible $19,303 since it commenced in 2016.
The Luv Ya Girlfriend gathering is grateful for the many wonderful donations of products from local individuals and businesses which are then raffled off during the afternoon tea, raising much needed funds.

Melissa Cumming, FWLHD Director Cancer and Palliative Care and Sandra Turley, Cancer Care Coordinator on behalf of the BHDCCN, thanked Deb and all those involved in Luv Ya Girlfriend for the very generous donation which will provide much needed financial support for people having cancer treatment.
