Nominate an exceptional nurse or midwife for FWLHD Healing Heart Award
Patients, families and carers are invited to recognise an outstanding local nurse or midwife, as part of the 2025 Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) Nursing and Midwifery Awards.
Each year, the Healing Heart Award for exceptional care is awarded to a FWLHD nurse or midwife, as nominated by patients or their families and carers.
FWLHD Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Wendy Gleeson said the Healing Heart Award is an opportunity for the public to recognise the dedicated nurses and midwives who continue to deliver extraordinary and compassionate care right across the District.
“Everyone is encouraged to take the opportunity to acknowledge the excellent care provided to you or your loved ones by a nurse or midwife within the District,” Ms Gleeson said.
”The Healing Heart award is a consumer-nominated award to recognise a nurse or midwife who consistently provides extraordinary, safe, quality and compassionate care.”
The awards are part of Far West LHD celebrations which acknowledge International Day of the Midwife on 5 May 2025 and International Nurses Day on 12 May 2025.
The Healing Heart Award, along with peer-nominated award winners, will be announced on 12 May 2025.
Patients, families and carers who nominate a nurse or midwife for the Healing Heart consumer award, may also have their nomination submitted for the state-wide Healing Heart Award in the 2025 NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards.
Nominations for the Far West Healing Heart consumer-nominated award close on COB of Thursday, 1 May 2025 and can be lodged online at
