Have your say on a place name in the City of Sydney LGA
The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal from Transport for NSW to name a new wharf in Glebe as Fish Market Wharf.
The wharf is located at the new Sydney Fish Market located on the Glebe foreshore in the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
Once completed, the wharf will operate as a public stop on the Transport for NSW commuter ferry network. The proposed name reflects the location of the commuter destination, the Sydney Fish Market.
GNB is seeking feedback to gauge community sentiment for the proposed name and suggestions for alternative names are not being sought at this time.
Details of the proposal can be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board's website.
Alternatively, written submissions may be mailed to:
The Secretary, Geographical Names Board, 346 Panorama Ave, Bathurst, NSW 2795.
The closing date for submissions is 10 May 2026.
