Working at Health Infrastructure

I think Health Infrastructure is in a unique position to really drive changes in healthcare.

You get to work on a variety of projects that matter, that make a difference to the community.

Our work isn't in the public eye, we don't deal with patients, but at the same time there definitely is something that we do that helps patients at the end of the day.

At the end of the project, you have a building which will support healing, it'll support care, it helps consumers. It may one day help your own family.

There's many opportunities to grow your career at HI. Everyone's always been very supportive and encouraging to try new things and to try new tasks.

My career started off as a graduate when I worked my way through the graduate program into a project coordinator. In a blink of an eye, I've become an assistant project director.

Working in Health Infrastructure itself is a team sport because you can't do it yourself. You just really have to listen and understand different perspectives, but also trying to satisfy priorities from different people.

I've been given opportunities to grow in other ways. I'm currently doing a leadership course and that course has been really great. I've connected with other Indigenous people across the government sectors.

You're always going to find challenges, but that's the best part of the job. Being able to problem solve and work together as a team to find resolutions to those challenges.

It's a really supportive environment here at HI. Everyone's passionate about what they do and that makes collaboration really easy and it comes naturally.

We are the cross section of so many people. If you're engineer, if you're an economist, if you're an architect, clinicians, policymakers, anything, you name it. We have it here.

I'm very proud to be part of Health Infrastructure. I always tell my friends actually that we have a quite a diverse range of people.

It's really dynamic. Every day is definitely different, especially when your projects are at different phases. It's challenging and it's empowering.

There's always been events on, morning teas, social outings. HI is really encouraging for you to get to know the people that you're working with outside of the work level also

Obviously we work hard, but to be able to work flexibly on any given day, I think it's really beneficial.

The delivery of healthcare is a pretty special place to be in. The teams on the ground are delivering something incredible in terms of the infrastructure, but there's a whole support network behind them to make the success of that project happen.

It's a really rewarding career. You have a tangible asset that you can see and touch, but beyond that its legacy is that it has real health impacts for individuals and the community at large.
