Artists invited to shape the art and healing journey for the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital Project
Artists and creative teams with a connection to the Albury Wodonga region are being invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for artwork opportunities as part of the Northeast Building Art Commission for the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital Project.
The NSW, Victorian and Australian Governments have committed $558 million to the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital Project, one of the largest regional health projects currently underway in NSW and Victoria. The project will double available floor space on the Albury campus with two new buildings to be delivered, the Northeast Building and the Clinical Services Building. The Northeast building is the first building to be delivered, with completion expected by late 2026.
The Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital Project will strengthen clinical services on the one campus, building future capacity, and bringing world-class care closer to Border communities.
Arts in health experiences are an integral part of all NSW Health Capital projects to reflect each region’s dynamic community and create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families and staff.
Artists at all stages of their career, are being invited to register their interest for two artwork opportunities for the Northeast Building:
- A landscape opportunity at the Northeast building entry to create a welcoming point of arrival and assist wayfinding
- An internal glazing feature providing a respite space in the waiting area to enhance patient experience
Expressions of Interest for the Northeast Building Art Commission close at 11.59pm on 5 May 2026.
Artists are invited to attend an information session on Wednesday, 29 April 10.30am-12pm, at Murray Art Museum Albury, 546 Dean Street Albury to learn more about arts opportunities as part of the redevelopment, and how to apply for the EOI for the Northeast Building. Artists seeking more information, and/or or to RSVP to this event are encouraged to email HI-Arts@health.nsw.gov.au.
The Northeast building will house a range of health services currently located in the existing Allied Health Building, which will be relocated to enable the construction of a new multi-storey Clinical Services Building. The purpose-built health facility will include allied health, outpatient services including cardiac diagnostics, administrative teams, and Pharmacy.
