First look at Blacktown Hospital's new in-patient unit
A new 30 bed inpatient unit will be delivered for Blacktown Hospital as part of the $120 million investment to the upgrade of Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
The local community have been given a first look at designs for the unit which will provide an expanded and contemporary acute inpatient capacity.
The Blacktown Hospital redevelopment will include a mix of fit-for-purpose rooms which will support recovery, and the expansion of clinical and non-clinical support service spaces. It will increase the hospital’s capacity to support patients recovering from a range of urgent conditions.
Construction timeframes will be provided following the appointment of a builder. Community consultation, planning and design will continue throughout 2025.
The $120 million upgrade of Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals will provide 60 additional beds across both hospitals to increase capacity.
