Broken Hill Health Service Redevelopment Works Notice - Northwestern driveway closure 4 August - 29 September 2025
Construction on the new Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit is progressing well with external works now underway. This work requires the partial closure of the northwestern driveway access from 4 August - 29 September 2025.
About the work
The northwestern driveway off Thomas Street accessing the Mental Health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre, Safe Haven, and MERIT will be partially closed to enable the completion of asphalt works.
How this work will affect you
- Temporary fencing will be installed to separate the work zone with clear signage to direct people.
- No vehicular access to the Mental Health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre, Safe Haven or MERIT will be available during this time.
- Pedestrian access to the above services from Thomas Street will be maintained with the installation of a temporary footpath - please park on or around Thomas Street and follow signage (see map on next page)
- An excavator and compacting roller will be required for this work.
- There will be some extra noise associated with this work.
- Emergency services have been advised.
- Note: Indicated dates are subject to change due to circumstances out of our control – advice will be provided accordingly.
