Broken Hill Health Service Redevelopment Works Notice - temporary change to ED waiting room location

About the works

Stage 3 of the Emergency Department upgrade has now commenced. These works are significant and include the construction of a new main entry, reception area, waiting room and triage space, as well as interview/consult room and two treatment bays.

How the work will impact you

There will be changes to the location of the Emergency Department Reception, Waiting Room and Triage spaces from Tuesday 8 July 2025 until further notice. 

To enable these works to take place, the former ED entry door and waiting area has now closed. The ED Reception, Waiting Room and Triage space have been temporarily relocated while we build the new and improved spaces.

There is also no access to the toilets in the former Waiting Room space – alternative toilets are located in the main corridor and in the Aboriginal Health corridor.

Please see the map and follow the signs and red arrows to the new waiting room area and closest toilet facilities. If you are unsure where to go, please ask a staff member.
