Call for artists to help shape the Warrawong Community Health Centre
Artists from across the Illawarra with strong connections to the local community are invited to contribute to the new Warrawong Community Health Centre, with Expressions of Interest now open.
The artworks will feature in the consultation and interview rooms of the new purpose-built community health facility to help create a welcoming, culturally inclusive and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff.
The new Warrawong Community Health Centre will include a range of community-based health services in one location, expanding and improving access to care for people across the Illawarra. The new facility is being delivered as part of the more than $780 million New Shellharbour and Integrated Services Project, funded by both the NSW and Commonwealth Governments.
Artists at all stages of their career and with a connection to the region are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest and share examples of their existing work. Selected artists will have the opportunity to contribute artworks that reflect the identity, stories and diversity of the local community.
Health Infrastructure has partnered with Regional Arts Development Organisation South Coast Arts to support artists through the application process and provide professional development opportunities for local creatives preparing their submissions. Artists are encouraged to contact Louise Croker via email or book a meeting online.
Construction of the new Warrawong Community Health Centre is underway and is expected to be completed later this year.
The Health and the Arts Framework 2024-2032 highlights the role of the arts in providing patients, staff and communities with positive experiences within healthcare settings. The Framework recognises and provides guidance for integrating the arts into our facilities and healthcare.
Expressions of Interest for the Warrawong Community Health Centre Commission close 11.59pm on 30 April 2026.
