Community invited to have their say on future of St George Hospital
The St George community is invited to have their say on the new $385 million St George Hospital - Stage 3 redevelopment.
The NSW Government fast-tracked the redevelopment as part of the State's COVID-19 Recovery Plan, ensuring the community is provided with state-of-the-art facilities.
The Stage 3 redevelopment will provide enhanced health services and facilities for Sydney's south and builds on previous investments by the NSW Government, including:
- the new $41 million Emergency Department
- $277 million Acute Services Building
- $11.5 million Birthing Suite and Theatre Refurbishment.
Stage 3 will provide a new Integrated Ambulatory Care Precinct, which will bring together a range of services to meet the growing needs of the community. The new facilities will be primarily used by outpatients visiting the hospital for a variety of procedures including:
- blood transfusions
- immune therapy
- biopsies and medical imaging tests.
Health Infrastructure, in partnership with the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District are on track to commence early works before the end of Christmas, with main works underway in 2022, followed by the new services opening for patients in 2025.
Community members are encouraged to visit the St George Hospital Redevelopment - Stage 3 project page for more information and to have their say.
