Community invited to provide feedback on New Bankstown Hospital concept design
The Bankstown community is being encouraged to view and provide feedback on the concept design for the new state-of-the-art Bankstown Hospital, which outlines the proposed layout and key features of the new health facility.
The NSW Government is investing $2 billion for the new Bankstown Hospital, making it the largest single capital works investment in a public hospital in the state’s history. Located in the heart of Bankstown’s CBD the new hospital will help meet the healthcare needs of South-West Sydney’s fast-growing and diverse communities, now and into the future.
The concept design outlines the planned locations of new and enhanced health services and facilities within the new multi-storey building. The scope of the new Bankstown Hospital will be finalised through the planning process, and is expected to include:
- an emergency department
- operating theatres
- intensive care unit
- surgical and medical services
- women and children’s health including maternity
- mental health
- ambulatory care
- cancer services
- aged health care services
- new multi-storey car park and on-ground parking
Community information sessions are being held in November 2025, providing staff and local residents with the opportunity to speak directly with the project team and share their feedback.
Early works will involve demolition of buildings to prepare the site for main works construction, and are expected to start in early 2026, subject to planning approval.
