Concept designs unveiled for Cessnock Hospital Redevelopment
Early designs to modernise Cessnock Hospital have been shaped by input from clinicians, staff, and consumers.
The concept design for the Cessnock Hospital Redevelopment includes a new two-level Acute Services Building that will enhance health services for the community, providing new amenities for patients and staff.
The design is being shaped by input from clinicians, staff, and consumers to ensure it meets the evolving health needs of the Cessnock community. With the project scope to be finalised through the planning and design process, expected features include:
- an expanded Emergency Department
- two new inpatient units with single and two-bed rooms with ensuite bathrooms
- a new medical imaging service
- improved connections with existing buildings.
The designs will enhance the hospital's Connection with Country and build upon master planning undertaken last year, which outlined department locations within the new building and future expansion zones.
The NSW Government's $111.48 million investment in the Cessnock Hospital Redevelopment aims to meet the evolving needs of the Cessnock community to support better health outcomes.
