Construction starts for new Rouse Hill Hospital
Construction is starting on the new $910 million Rouse Hill Hospital, marking a significant milestone in delivering a state-of-the-art health facility for Sydney’s growing north west communities.
Lendlease has been engaged as the early works contractor and will prepare the hospital site for main works construction, which is an essential next step of the new hospital.
Located close to the Rouse Hill Metro Station and Rouse Hill town centre, the new hospital is conveniently located and will provide staff, patients and families with improved access to high-quality health services and modern facilities, closer to home.
Planning and design for the new hospital continues to be guided by ongoing community feedback, including the new comprehensive birthing and maternity services which were boosted by an additional $210 million jointly committed by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments.
The new Rouse Hill Hospital will include:
- Emergency Department
- comprehensive birthing services including birthing rooms and a maternity inpatient unit
- inpatient beds and day surgery services
- short stay medical assessment services
- pathology, pharmacy and medical imaging services
- outpatient and ambulatory care services including paediatrics and renal dialysis
- virtual care and hospital in the home services
- prehabilitation, rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine
- multi-storey carpark.
The hospital has been designed to support the future growth and delivery of health services for Sydney’s northwest communities.
The State Significant Development Application for main works construction was recently placed on exhibition and submissions are currently being assessed. This next stage of work is expected to begin this year, following formal planning approval.
The project is being delivered in partnership between the NSW and Commonwealth Governments and will form part of Western Sydney Local Health District’s network.
