Construction underway on Ryde Hospital Redevelopment
Construction is underway on the $526.8 million Ryde Hospital Redevelopment.
Premier Chris Minns and Minister for Health Ryan Park joined local health workers for a traditional sod-turning event to kick-off the milestone.
The redevelopment will transform healthcare delivery for Ryde and surrounding communities and ensure people can get the care they need close to home.
When complete, communities will benefit from new and enhanced facilities, including:
- an expanded emergency department
- medical imaging department
- intensive care unit
- operating theatres
- a new paediatric short stay unit, and more.
The project will also feature improved accessibility, contemporary education, training and research facilities, along with additional on-site parking. The new hospital building is scheduled for completion in 2027, with the new main entry, demolition of former buildings and landscaping to take place in 2028.
