Cowra Hospital Redevelopment Community Open Day
If you’re confirmed for a guided tour of the new $110.2 million Cowra Hospital, read on for everything you need to know for a smooth visit.
Before you arrive
- Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a short safety briefing.
- Bring your TryBooking confirmation (on phone or printed) and a water bottle (refill stations onsite).
- Wear closed-in shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for walking (some areas are outdoors).
- Accessibility needs? Email HI-Cowra@health.nsw.gov.au ahead of time, or speak to staff on arrival.
Getting there
- Entry: Follow event signage to registration via Brisbane Street.
- Parking: Parking is limited. Please allow extra time to find a space in the surrounding streets and walk to the entrance. Accessible bays and a drop-off zone are provided near the entry.
- Wayfinding: Marshals and signage will guide you from street parking to the check-in area.
On the day
- Check-in: Tours depart every 15 minutes
- What you’ll see: Emergency department, maternity unit, inpatient and outpatient areas.
- Refreshments: Light refreshments will be available for purchase, and a BBQ and coffee cart will be in operation.
- Photography: Official photos and filming will occur. You’re welcome to take photos in public areas, but please refrain from photographing staff and visitors without their consent.
Wet weather
- We’re on—rain or shine. If it’s raining, queuing and registration move indoors or under covered areas.
- Tour route: For safety, routes may be shortened or re-ordered to prioritise covered and internal areas.
- What to bring: A compact umbrella or rain jacket if it is raining. Non-slip, closed-in footwear is best for your safety.
- Seating and comfort: Some seating will be available, and areas to leave your pram will be designated if you check with reception.
- Live updates: Any on-the-day changes will be announced over the PA, and staff will be available to discuss at the registration desk to answer any questions.
